A new way to celebrate with beer, from all of us at Southey

We’ve always said that beer is best when it means something—when it’s shared with good people, in a place that feels like home. Whether it’s a sunny afternoon in the taproom or a quiet pint with a mate, beer has a way of making moments memorable.

That’s why we’re excited to share something new we’ve been working on: Custom Celebration Cans.

It’s a simple idea, really. We brew the beer you already love—Penge Pilsner or Lazy Jesus—and now, you can personalise the label to celebrate something special. A wedding, a birthday, a launch party, a retirement, or maybe just because you want to mark the moment.

We've had people come to us in the past asking for custom touches—names on pump clips, little tweaks to mark a personal occasion—so this felt like the next natural step. We wanted to create something fun and local that still feels proper and meaningful.

How It Works (No Fuss)

We’ll sit down with you, have a chat about what you’re celebrating, and come up with a label design that fits the occasion. It’ll be in our Southey style (because that’s who we are), but with your own flair—names, dates, inside jokes, even your dog if that’s what you fancy.

Once you're happy with the design (you get a few tweaks), we’ll print up proper full-wrap labels and hand-can your beer, ready to go. You’ll also get a framed copy of the label as a keepsake, because we think these things deserve to be remembered.

Whether it's a couple of dozen cans or a few cases, we’ll make it feel personal.

Why We're Doing It

We love being a part of people’s lives. Over the years, we’ve poured pints at wedding receptions, hosted surprise birthday drinks, and even brewed special beers for local causes. So offering a way to let people take that connection home with them—literally in their hands—just made sense.

And as a small brewery rooted in Penge, we know it’s the little things that make an occasion feel special. A custom label might seem small, but trust us: when you hand your mates a beer with your names, your story, and your favourite brew inside, it hits differently.
